MEMBER PARTICIPATION AWARDS 

BEST CLUBMAN

  • This is a perpetual trophy awarded each year to the member who is voted by their peers to be the best club person throughout the year.

  • The winner also receives a small trophy to keep.

  • There is a winner only.   There is no 2nd or 3rd prize

  • Each member will be given the opportunity to vote once only.

  • Voting will be conducted by on-line survey in the period between the June monthly meeting and the AGM in July with the winner being announced at the AGM.

  • Receipt of this award does not exclude the winner from consideration for the Dipstick Award.

  • The Trophy is presented at the AGM by the Patron.

DIPSTICK AWARD

  • This is a perpetual trophy awarded each year to the member who has made the ultimate blunder throughout the membership year or the member who has received he most fines from the club Sheriff.
  • There is a winner only.   There is no 2nd or 3rd prize. 
  • The winner is determined at the discretion of the Club Sheriff.   No committee, member or judging panel voting is involved however the Sheriff's decision may be swayed by frequent dobbing.
  • Eligibility is upon the head of any Ordinary or Life member 
  • Receipt of this award does not exclude the winner from consideration for the Best Clubman award.
  • The Trophy is presented at the AGM by the Sheriff.  

LIFE MEMBERSHIP

  • The purpose of awarding life membership is to recognise "outstanding service and commitment" to the Cobra Car Club of WA (CCCWA).
  • A nominated person is eligible for consideration for life membership after another ordinary or life member of the CCCWA nominates that person for life membership.   The nominating person is required to complete the life membership nomination form in support of that nomination.
  • A nominated person's outstanding service in the interest of the CCCWA will be considered within the following guidelines:
    1. The nominee has been conspicuously seen by the members in the execution of duties or voluntary work towards the betterment of the CCCWA.
    2. The time has been substantial as measured by the number of years involved, amount of time and effort, quality of results and benefit to the CCCWA and its members.   As a guide, a period of not less than 10 years should be considered as a minimum period of service.
    3. The service to the club shall be sacrificial in nature and not directly for personal status or personal gain or profit either directly or indirectly.
    4. The character, personal standing and behaviour of the nominated person shall be beyond reproach
  • The primary purpose of the CCCWA executive committee in relation to a nomination for life membership is to consider and where appropriate, make recommendations on life membership to the membership at a Annual General Meeting (AGM).
  • All nominations must be in writing and received by the CCCWA Secretary no later than 21 Days before the relevant AGM.
  • The ordinary and life members of the CCCWA in attendance at the AGM shall consider the relative merits and contributions towards "outstanding service and commitment" to the CCCWA, referring to the following guidelines as necessary, considering each nomination independently to determine whether or not the nominated person meets the guidelines:
  •  Life membership can only be awarded if the required guidelines are met.
    1. Eligibility for life membership does not automatically entitle a person to life membership.
    2. the ordinary and life members in attendance at the AGM shall reach consensus on a show of hands, for or against, on any recommendation received for life membership.
    3. The endorsement of life membership status on a member is solely the decision of the CCCWA membership and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Life members will be exempt from membership fees or subscriptions for life and their name will be recorded on the club honour board.   They will also receive a plaque reflecting the recognition of the Committee and membership of the club for their service.
  • The award is presented at the AGM by the club president.

CAR AWARDS 

MEMBERS CHOICE

  • The Members Choice award is a perpetual trophy awarded each year to the cobra owner who has been voted by their peers to have presented the best car.
  • All Cobra's, GT40's and Daytona's are eligible for the award.
  • To be eligible for the award cars must be on display at the annual Show 'n Shine. 
  • Un-financial members are not eligible to enter their cars.
  • The trophy is presented at the Show 'n Shine by the Patron.
  • This award is based on votes from financial Ordinary and Life Members only.   Member partners and Associate Members are not eligible to vote.
  • There is no judging criteria, score sheets or guidelines.   Members cast their vote based entirely on their own "gut feeling".
  • All cars are to be displayed with a random number placed under the windscreen wiper.
  • All members eligible to vote and present on the day are to be given a voting slip which is to have the members vote recorded by writing the windscreen number on it and placing it in the ballot box.
    Members eligible to vote but not present on the day have no vote and proxy votes are not permitted.
  • The car must remain on display for the duration of the Show 'n Shine and must be present during the awarding of trophies.
  • The owner of the car with the highest number of votes is awarded first place and has his name engraved on the perpetual trophy which is to be displayed on the wall at the Veterans Car Club of WA.   
  • The winner of first place also receives a trophy to keep.
  • The owner of the cars with the second and third highest number of votes are awarded similar but smaller trophies to keep.

RON MEECHIN MEMORIAL AWARD

(Formerly Judges Choice)

  • This award is a perpetual trophy donated to the CCCWA by Barbara Meechin (Ron's mother) and Ruth Meechin-Fowle (Ron's sister)
  • There is a winner only.   There is no 2nd or 3rd prize
  • All Cobra's, GT40's and Daytona's are eligible for the award.

  • To be eligible for the award cars must be on display at the annual Show 'n Shine.

  • Un-financial members are not eligible to enter their cars.

  • The winner is determined as the car that achieves the highest score from the Judges Guidelines.

  • The judges are to record their results on the Judges Scoresheet.

  • The winner is determined as the car that the judges deem to be the best car on display regardless of whether it was built by the owner or a manufacturer.   The age of the car is not taken into consideration.

  • The trophy is presented at the Show 'n Shine by Barbara Meechin and Ruth Meechin-Fowle or in their absence the previous holder of the award.
  • There is also a memorial plaque honouring the names of our members who have died whilst a member of the CCCWA.   This plaque is to be displayed on the wall in the Veterans Car Club of WA.

BEST BUILDER

  • This award is transitory trophy.   There is no perpetual trophy.    
  • Awards are made for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.
  • All Cobra's, GT40's and Daytona's are eligible for the award.
  • Cars must be on display at the annual Show 'n Shine.
  • The member must have constructed the majority of the car himself.   Members who "Project Manage" the construction are not eligible.
  • Un-financial members are not eligible to enter their cars.
  • The winner is determined as the car that achieves the highest score from the Judges Guidelines.
  • The judges are to record their results on the Judges Scoresheet.
  • There are to be two judges appointed who:
    1. Must not have a car eligible for this award,
    2. Should be experienced builders,
  • The trophies are presented at the Show 'n Shine by the club Patron.

BEST CAR OVER 10 AND 20 YEARS

  • This award is transitory trophy.   There is no perpetual trophy.
  • Awards are made for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.
  • All Cobra's, GT40's and Daytona's are eligible for the award.
  • Cars must be on display at the annual Show 'n Shine.
  • The car must be registered for over 10 or 20 years.   The period between delivery of components or commencement of construction and registration does not count towards the qualifying period.
  • Un-financial members are not eligible to enter their cars.
  • The winner is determined as the car that achieves the highest score from the Judges Guidelines.     
  • The judges are to record their results on the Judges Scoresheet.
  • There are to be two judges appointed who:
  1. Must not have a car eligible for this award,
  2. Should be experienced owners,
  • The  trophies are presented at the Show 'n Shine by the club Patron.
